Alchemy has traditionally been associated with the transmutation of base metals into gold. The ancient Alchemists made clear in their writings that the substance of their transmutation was the human soul. Their goal was the transmutation of the base metals of human emotions and instincts within the subconscious mind into the gold of self-realization. According to Carl Jung, the first modern alchemist, the vehicles of this transformative process were the archetypes, the Inner Guides.

Thus Alchemy can be defined as the spiritual discipline of working with Inner Guides. These powerful and autonomous beings live within the subconscious mind and can guide us effectively to health, happiness, relationships, prosperity, and most important, the fulfillment of our spiritual purpose! These Guides can be accessed through the hypnotic state.

Alchemical Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic process designed to assist the client in working with their Inner Guides to change their lives. Alchemical Hypnotherapy synthesizes techniques from many modern schools of Transpersonal Hypnotherapy and Psychology. It includes Gestalt, Regression Therapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Psychosynthesis and Shamanism with the ancient science of Alchemy as translated and channelled to the modern world by Dr. Carl Jung.

Specifically, Alchemical Hypnotherapy, as developed by David Quigley, includes all of the following processes:

The rescue of the inner child from the trauma, neglect, and emotional pain of the past.
Providing the inner child with new loving parents and the experiences of a nurturing childhood. We create with you a loving inner world in which someone is always there to hear and respond to your needs.
Strategies for contacting, testing, and working with the Inner Guides (archetypes) through trance, movement, and shamanic practices.
Contacting past-life memories within the collective unconscious to access creative abilities, resolve trauma, change karma, and alter contracts with significant others.
Integration of sub-personalities (different voices within ourselves) to resolve conflicting desires and goals. This leads to the unification of the will and the achievement of dreams.

Supervised Practice (40 hours)

20 Hours of client work (You will need to arrange to be able to do 20 hours of ‘client work’ between weekends from approximately the second weekend of the course. During these sessions you can help your volunteers with issues and processes relevant to your study. You will use this as an opportunity to make ‘Case Note’ records of your sessions for submission.

Trance Scripts (5 Hours)

Design 5 trance scripts to include, induction, deepeners, direct suggestion, anchors and return. (You’ll learn how a hypnotherapy session works and the kind of words you need to use in practice and then, when you’ve learned enough you can design 5 scripts, which you can later use yourself when in practice).

Reading/Listening

Listen to the 5 Alchemical Journey CD’s and complete review. (15 hours)

Read a minimum of 5 books, from the recommended reading list (Appendix 1)

Learning Log/Journal (20 hours)

Your learning log and personal journal offers you an opportunity to review, reflect upon and integrate your learning. Following each training session you will reflect on your learning and write a few paragraphs (a copy will also be submitted, along with your essay and trance scripts, as evidence of your developing learning).

ADVANCED ALCHEMICAL HYPNOTHERAPY DIPLOMA

COURSE OUTLINE:

ADDICTIONS (25 Hours)

Techniques for working with weight loss, smoking, addictions and phobias, including the powerful Addictive Personality Technique Also saboteur and depossession.

Advanced Conference Room Techniques (25 Hours)

How to work with hidden sub-personalities, use of evocative language, contract work, "mocking up" the conference room, and couple's conference room. A must for the practicing hypnotherapist who wishes to work with sub-personalities.

Advanced Alchemical Techniques (25 Hours)

Techniques for direct trance state work with mythical and symbolic imagery. Alchemical Dream Work, Religious Deprogramming, Alchemical Tarot and spiritual philosophy of Alchemy.

Somatic Healing Training (25 Hours)

Heal illness and injury with powerful new tools including hypnotic movement, energy channelling, inner healer, spiritual surgery, and colour healing. For more information, see Somatic Healing and The Alchemy of Healing. This training is open to beginners.

Kimberley Lovell is an International Medium, Psychotherapist, Hypnotherapist and Trainer with over 18 years experience in the field of Personal & Spiritual Development. Kim has worked in both the voluntary and statutory sector, with diverse client groups, in a range of roles and settings within Education, Health, Social Care and Criminal Justice and has specialized in working with Addiction, Abuse and Mental Health. She is trained and experienced in; Counselling, Hypnotherapy, NLP, Psychosynthesis, Dream-Work and a wide variety of Bodywork and Complementary Therapies. Her work is transpersonal and integrative, drawing from a wide range of theories and models to facilitate transformational healing and learning.

Kim is the Founding Director of SOULUTIONS Training & Development, a member of the General Hypnotherapy Register.

Venues: Courses will take place in idyllic surroundings in the magical Isle of Avalon, Glastonbury, and close to the famous Cheddar Gorge, in Somerset, UK.

Guest Tutor: David Quigley, B.A. C.Ht., is the founder of Alchemical Hypnotherapy, a powerful system of hypnosis taught at more than a dozen schools in the United States and Europe. Graduating from Duke University with a degree in Comparative Religions, he went on to study Psychosynthesis, NLP, Ericksonian hypnosis and Gestalt therapy with a special emphasis in Jungian studies. He graduated from The Hypnotherapy Training Institute in 1983. He is currently a board member of the American Council of Hypnotist’s Examiners. David has also been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the ACHE.

David Quigley has been the Director of the Alchemy Institute; a California State licensed school, in Santa Rosa California since 1988. He also travels and teaches worldwide as guest faculty at numerous schools and events. His willingness to share his own personal struggles and transformation creates an intimate atmosphere of trust and support among his students and audiences.

A dynamic teacher and presenter, David Quigley combines a theatrical and humorous delivery style with 20 years of teaching experience and private practice. David is the author of The Manual of Alchemical Hypnotherapy. He continues to expand the course curriculum at the Institute and collaborates with other teachers and schools worldwide to stay in the forefront in this exciting and growing field.

GHSC Practitioner Level VALIDATED TRAINING General Hypnotherapy Standards Council

The Diploma in Alchemical Hypnotherapy and Advanced Diploma in Alchemical Hypnotherapy offered by Soulutions Training & Development have been separately Assessed and Validated at Practitioner Level by The General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (UK). Successful graduates from either course are eligible for professional registrations with The General Hypnotherapy Register (the GHSC’s Registering Agency), together with the industry based award – The General Qualification in Hypnotherapy Practice (GHQP).
